Adam Makowicz «Swinging Ivories» (Polskie Radio)

Paweł Brodowski comments:
Adam Makowicz, 77, is one the few living piano virtuosos in the tradition of Art Tatum, Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson. «Swinging Ivories», recorded live for Polish Radio at Witold Lutoslawski Concert Hall in Warsaw last November, it is Makowicz’s first new album in almost ten years. It features his own original compositions as well as standards from the Great American Songbook, displaying his stunnig virtuosity, lyrical touch and invention.

Mike Flynn Jazzwise (U.K.):

Dinosaur «Wonder Trail» (Edition)

Mike Flynn comments:
A highly imaginative follow up to the band’s Mercury nominated debut – Wonder Trail sees trumpet player Laura Jurd’s band hitting their stride on an album that effortlessly blends folk, 1980s Krautrock, electronica and jazz with consistently captivating results.
