The glowing playing of the best-known Dutch trumpeter is a perfect fit for the almost classical approach of French jazz pianist Frank Woeste, who played with Ibrahim Maalouf. These two masters of European jazz have become musical brothers. They describe their new duo music as ‘a kaleidoscope of sounds’.
Frank Woeste is a jazz pianist with a classical foundation; recently he adapted music by Ravel together with trombone player Ryan Keberle. In the Paris jazz scene he’s known as a pianist, composer and arranger with a broad palette. He has collaborated with the likes of Michel Portal and Dave Douglas and has played in the band of Ibrahim Maalouf.
Trumpeter Eric Vloeimans is widely known for his ‘brilliant tone’ (de Volkskrant) and as the leader of successful jazz bands such as Gatecrash and Fugimundi.
