When it comes to double bass, Jasper Høiby is one of the greats of British jazz. Over the past decade, the Danish-born player has become renowned for his fearlessly expressive sound, charismatic stage presence and distinct compositional prowess. Aside from his international success with Phronesis, he has founded this band Planet B inspired by some of the major themes of our times: climate change, artificial intelligence and monetary reform. For this mixture of acoustic sound, samples and soundscapes, Høiby collaborates with saxophonist Josh Arcoleo and drummer Marc Michel.
‘Høiby comes to life in a wonderful musical environment created by the musicians around him. His playing is fluent, harmonic and ever so challenging.’ (Written in Music).
